BEN WRIGHT
GROUP OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
ABOUT.
The names Wright… Ben Wright. My journey began with Beat in January for 2020 but I have worked in food all my adult life. Born in Nantwich, Cheshire which is where I have lived ever since day 1. I consider myself a very easing going but driven person both inside and outside of work. I take work very seriously but also like to think I have fun along the way, “If it's not fun, you're not doing it right.”
EXPERIENCE.
It took 2 years and a BTEC in Business for me to realise I preferred a hands-on approach to work. From the age of 18 with my first employer I went from line op role to stock controller and then onto warehouse manager and finally Operations manager gaining key skills and knowledge as I progressed. I then worked for one of the world’s largest Cereal manufacturers. I joined Beat with 13 years of experience in the food industry and eager to learn more, bettering both myself and the business. I started as a buyer before being promoted to Operations Director in 2021. I’m responsible for all things manufacturing and supply chain. I have a large appetite not just for food but for success, I love solving problems big or small and being able to see things through from start to finish doing what I can to reach personal and company goals.
PROUDEST MOMENT.
I would genuinely have to say the day I was approached to come and work for Beat. After working hard for 10+ years, building myself up to a point where someone outside of my working environment recognised and appreciated what I’d achieved and thought “I want him to work for us” that was a great feeling.
PASSIONATE ABOUT.
You get out of life what you put in, in all aspects. Always treat others how you’d want to be treated and never forget your roots. My first boss said to me once “Be nice to everybody on your way up as you have to meet them on the way back down”. FOOD!!! Both working with, cooking with and most importantly eating. Food is one of the few things on earth I think really brings people and more importantly family’s together. Along with food obviously family, friends and Manchester United Football Club.
